Three-alarm fire breaks out at vacant apartments

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The Houston Fire Department is currently battling a 3-alarm fire in northwest Houston.

HFD was dispatched to the vacant apartment fire in the 4700 block of Airline at about 4pm. Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes and found heavy fire coming from the structure.

A second alarm was called about 4:20pm with a third alarm called for more manpower just before 5pm.

The fire was contained to one building, and no injuries have been reported.

About 35 HFD units are on scene and arson investigators have been requested to determine the cause. The Houston Police Department is also assisting with traffic control.
