HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A local synagogue dedicated a new Torah with a homecoming parade Sunday.

The scribe completed the scroll's final letters Sunday afternoon at the Junior League of Houston.

Once the Torah was complete, members of the Chabad of Uptown paraded the scroll to its permanent home at their synagogue a few blocks away in southwest Houston.

The process of writing all 300,000 letters usually takes about a year.
