Texans fans following team to Baltimore

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Flights to Baltimore and tickets to the game are going fast. We don't know yet just how many Texans fans will be going to Baltimore, but judging by the excitement in a lot of Houston households, there should be no shortage of fans.

The Malone and Robinson families had a lot of reasons to celebrate Sunday night. A family birthday, Saturday's Texans win and -- for some of them -- an upcoming trip to Baltimore to follow their team to the next round against the Ravens.

"[I am a] season ticket holder from the very first year," Shanan Malone said.

Like many fans, Shanan Malone has stood behind the Texans from day one, through the ups and downs.

"I think one of my favorite shirts I made one year said 'Texans fan: It's a love-hate relationship.' Right now, it's a love relationship," she said.

Saturday, though, was unforgettable.

"It was absolutely exciting beyond belief," she said.

Before the game was over, she was texting her husband: "We've got to go to Baltimore."

"She's probably the biggest Texans fan I know," husband Robert Malone said.

By the third quarter, fans were already booking travel.

"There's 10 flights on Saturday and eight of them are sold out," Robert Malone said.

"There were very few seats left on a lot of the planes. It just said one seat, two seat, one seat, two seat. Obviously, we have some Texans fans going," Shanan Malone said.

Shanan Malone has waited 10 years for this trip. She's not about to let her team down.

"I was the first to say, 'watch us, we can go all the way,'" she said. "All you have to do is believe."

We did some checking and tickets to the game on StubHub start at about $200 and go up to more than $1,000 for the best seats. Airfare to the Baltimore area is running from $600 to $900.
