HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man is dead after he was struck by a car in southwest Houston last night.

It happened around 8pm on Hillcroft at Skyline. Police say the man was on a median and stepped on to the street. He was hit and killed instantly.

"She stopped, stayed at the scene. She was very cooperative and no signs of impairments, no signs of speed involved in the vehicle," said Jim Timpy with the Houston Police Department. "So we are just conducting an investigation and getting all the facts in the case."

A total of three people were in the car, including a baby. They were not hurt.
