HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Rescue crews were on the scene of a terrifying wreck in northwest Houston where a vehicle landed upside-down after slamming into a portable building.
It happened Wednesday afternoon near Old Katy Road at Post Oak. Police tell us that a 34-year-old female driver has a long record of speeding. Officers say the woman was driving at a high rate of speed on the I-10 feeder to the Highway 290 HOV lane when her vehicle hit a retaining wall. The vehicle went over the wall and landed on a portable building below.
That building is the TxDOT field office for the 290 interchange construction project. According to TxDOT, no workers in the facility were hurt.
Police think the woman may be disabled. The driver was conscious and breathing as she was taken to the hospital. Her condition is not known.
