GALVESTON, TX (KTRK) -- A monkey is under quarantine for biting a woman at Moody Gardens. According to the Galveston County Daily News, the woman grabbed the animal in a tree at the Rainforest Pyramid in Galveston Sunday.
The monkey was a cotton-top Tamarin. It's a small primate weighing less than two pounds. The monkey bit the woman's hand. Police say the wound wasn't serious.
The monkey that bit the woman and another monkey in the enclosure are both under 30-day quarantine. This is the first primate bite since Moody Gardens added monkeys six years ago.
