Police: Man intentionally hit two women with car, fled

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police are investigating a hit-and-run in southwest Houston that sent two women to the hospital.

It happened outside an apartment complex on Gustine at Sapling Way around 1am Sunday.

Police say the driver of a Geo Prism intentionally hit the women. He then rammed his car into a fence, backed up and took off. He never swerved to avoid them, officials say.

Police found one woman with injuries to her arms and legs lying on the side of the road

The other was incoherent and limping around a nearby apartment complex.

A trail of oil led police to the suspect's abandoned car in a parking lot, but the driver had disappeared.

Police say they know who the driver is and plan to arrest him.

Officials say he will face two charges of felony failure to stop and render aid and possible attempted murder charges.

The two women are expected to recover.
