CPS removes kids found living in reported filth

CONROE, TX (KTRK) -- Child Protective Services has removed three children from a filthy home without running water, sewer service or electricity.

Firefighters called CPS after putting out a mattress fire at the children's home near Conroe Tuesday. Bridgett Watson, 30, admitted to struggling to support her 14-year-old, 12-year-old and seven-year-old sons since her husband went to prison 19 months ago.

The boys asked firefighters for food, saying they had shared a can of carrots for dinner the night before. The boys said they had been getting water from the San Jacinto River.
