KINGWOOD, TX (KTRK) -- A Kingwood mother was dead Saturday and her boyfriend was in custody, police said.

Around 10am, police got a call about a disturbance at an apartment in the 2100 block of Lake Hills Drive.

According to officials, the suspect called his parents and told them something had happened and he was feeling suicidal. They asked police to check on their son.

When they arrived, investigators found the victim's body and took the suspect into custody.

Police said the victim's eight-year-old son was home at the time but didn't see anything. He was released to his biological father.

Investigators believe the victim may have been strangled, but an autopsy will be performed to confirm her cause of death.

No names have been released.
