Seizure prompts car accident en route to hospital

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police say a woman driving her mother to the hospital for surgery suffered a seizure and crashed into a tree in west Houston.

The accident happened at about 5am near the intersection of Richmond and Dairy Ashford. It took rescue crews about 30 minutes to free the driver from the wreckage.

She was air-lifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in serious condition. Her mother was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
