A fatal pedestrian accident on the East Freeway is causing major traffic delays in the area. 
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police are on the scene of a fatal accident on the East Freeway. The accident happened just before noon on the westbound lanes of the East Freeway near Crosby Lynchburg. Details are still pretty sketchy at this point but a truck was apparently broken down and some people were working on it when something went terribly wrong. Authorities have confirmed one person was struck and killed. There were at least three vehicles involved in the accident.
A police investigation is underway. Traffic is being affected in the area.
