Woman accused of stealing deputy's gun following shooting

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A woman is charged with stealing a gun from an off-duty officer who was shot and killed in northeast Houston.

Judy Hambrick was arraigned in absentia in court overnight. Hambrick did not appear in person for medical reasons. Investigators say she admitted taking a gun and other items from the car of Harris County Precinct four Deputy Constable Ronnie Brewer. He was shot in an apparent robbery Tuesday.

Two other people have been detained for questioning.
