MISSOURI CITY, TX (KTRK) -- There is a developing story from Missouri City, where a search is underway for survivors after a fiery crash off the South Beltway.
It happened just before 3am. Firefighters responded to a report of a smoke burning in a wooded area off the South Beltway at South Main.
We spotted some smoke billowing up from that wooded area on our Houston Transtar Jam Cams. It's believed a car flew off the freeway, flipped several times and caught fire. A later search by an HPD helicopter did not find anyone around the car.
It's not clear if anyone is still inside. (Copyright ©2011 KTRK-TV/DT. All Rights Reserved.)
