A SWAT team was able to convince a local man to surrender after a standoff that lasted more than two hours.
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man was arrested after a two and a half hour standoff Saturday night in northwest Harris County.Police were called to a disturbance at a home in the 5400 block of Winding Way near Sheraton Oaks around 10:30pm Saturday.
A woman told officers her husband was threatening her and threatening to hurt himself. He had several guns inside the home, officials said.
A SWAT team responded. They were able to convince the man to surrender after about two and a half hours.
No shots were ever fired and one was injured during the incident, officials said. The man was taken into custody and sent for psychiatric evaluation.
