Surveillance video of suspect in robbery and stabbing of man at Midtown bank released

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police have released surveillance video to help identify one of two suspects wanted for the robbery and stabbing of a man at a Midtown bank in October.

According to police, the male victim, 46, was picked up by the suspect and a driver (second suspect) and taken to an ATM at the Wells Fargo Bank at 2714 Smith Street about 6:30am on October 10. Houston police say the suspect threatened the victim with a knife and forced him to withdraw funds from the ATM.

When the victim did not withdraw funds, police say the suspect attempted to take the victim's wallet, at which point a struggle ensued and the suspect stabbed the victim multiple times. Witnesses overheard the suspect yelling that he was going to kill the victim. After stabbing the victim, the suspect fled in the waiting Marquis and fled in an unknown direction.

The victim was left in the bank's drive-through lanes. He was transported by paramedics to Memorial Hermann Hospital and treated for his severe wounds.

The suspects are described only as two black males. One is described as approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, 20 to 30 years of age and weighing about 150 to 160 pounds. This suspect is depicted in the surveillance video to the left of the victim. The suspect were seen driving in a four-door, 90s model, possibly gold Mercury Grand Marquis.

Surveillance video of jewelry store heist released

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Authorities hope surveillance video will help catch the lone suspect responsible for a jewelry store heist.

On September 24 at around 10:15am, an unidentified black male entered the jewelry store located on the 22500 block of Tomball Parkway. Investigators say the suspect approached one of the victims at a display case, and drew a gun from his waist.

Threatening the victims with the weapon, the suspect demanded jewelry from the case. The victims complied, and filled a bag the suspect provided with valuables before surrendering it to the suspect.

The suspect left the store and was seen getting into the passenger side of a gold 4-door Saturn. A substantial amount of jewelry was taken during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 30 years of age, standing around 6 foot 2, weighing approximately 180 - 200 lbs. At the time of the offense, the suspect wore a Chicago Bulls baseball cap, a black Chicago Bulls t-shirt, blue jean shorts and black tennis shoes.

The store's surveillance system captured the robbery on video.

Surveillance video released in fatal drive-by shooting of baby

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Authorities are asking for the public's assistance in identifying suspects and their vehicle seen in segments of a surveillance video in the fatal shooting of a child.

The unknown suspects are wanted in the death of 11-month-old Forever Donatto. Police say on August 19 at around 3am the baby and several other persons were inside a vehicle parked in the driveway at 8339 Ponnel Lane when an unknown male suspect in a SUV fired several shots in the vehicle's direction, striking it several times. One of the bullets penetrated the back seat of the car and struck the baby. She was transported to Texas Children's Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time, police say.

In the surveillance video, the suspect(s) was seen driving in a dark colored, full-sized sport utility vehicle with specialty rims. Two unknown males seen running are believed to be the same individuals inside a vehicle driving by the residence as the gunfire happens (at the :33 mark). Just prior to that, the vehicle with the baby inside pulls into the driveway. Still photos of the wanted vehicle begin at the :53 mark of the video.

Identities of club shooting victims released

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police are still looking for the killers who shot three people to death outside a southwest Houston club following a concert. Hundreds had gathered outside the Scores Cabaret at 9850 Westpark Drive in southwest Houston after a Juneteenth rap concert, and that's when someone opened fire.

The gunfire took place at about 3:15am Wednesday. Police have identified Coy Thompson, 23, Erica Rochelle Dotson, 30, and Carlos Durell Dorsey, 31, who all died at the scene. Two other victims, Willie Watkins, 37, and Frazier Othel Thompson, 31, also known as rap artist Trae Tha Truth, suffered gunshot wounds and were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital and Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Trae had just performed a concert inside a club, and as patrons were leaving the club at closing time, shots were fired. Police say their investigation has determined Coy Thompson was the intended target of the shooting and the other victims were struck by the gunfire intended for him.

Police say Thompson, also known as "Poppa C," had gotten into a domestic dispute on Sunday and received threats on his life. Investigators also determined Thompson had been involved in a similar shooting incident outside a nightclub at 9600 Bissonnet on November 25, 2011, in which Dominique Brown, also known as "Money Clip" was killed.

No arrests have been made in that ongoing investigation. At this time, it has not been determined if these two incidents are related.

Sketch released in METRO bus stop armed robbery

One of the suspects is described as a black male, approximately 25 to 35 years old with a thin build. He had a distinctive tattoo of a leaf on the left side of his face. At the time of the crime, he wore a black shirt, black pants and a black ball cap.

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police need your help to find two suspects who they say robbed a female victim at a Houston bus stop, and now they have a sketch of one of them.

The alleged robbery happened at around 1pm on March 28. A female victim was waiting at the METRO bus stop near the 8600 block of Westheimer when police say she was approached by two unidentified males.

The first suspect grabbed her and held her hands behind her back, while the second held a knife to her face and threatened her if she screamed. Police say that second suspect then cut the strap of her purse and both suspects took off running into a nearby apartment complex.

The first suspect is described as a black male, approximately 25 to 35 years old. At the time of the crime, he wore a red shirt, red pants and a red baseball cap.

The second suspect is described as a black male, approximately 25 to 35 years old with a thin build. He had a distinctive tattoo of a leaf on the left side of his face. At the time of the crime, he wore a black shirt, black pants and a black ball cap.

Surveillance video released of fatal drive-by shooting in southeast Houston

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police have released surveillance video of a suspect's vehicle involved in the fatal shooting of a man earlier this year in southeast Houston.

The surveillance video starts with the victim's and suspect's vehicles pulling up just outside a service station at 4400 Ward at Foster about 7:20pm on January 3, 2012. The suspect's vehicle then flees through the parking lot immediately after the shooting.

Police say the victim was driving on Ward when a newer model silver Dodge Caliber pulled up next to his car. Someone from inside the Dodge then shot into the driver's side of the victim's vehicle. The victim Sidney Ross, 31, of Houston, drove a short distance and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect is described only as a black male.

Surveillance video released in sledgehammer heist at jewelry store

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Authorities have released surveillance video of a jewelry store heist this week.

At around 1pm Wednesday, three suspects dressed in black from head to toe came into the Zales Outlet at 5203 W. FM 1960 and began smashing the display cases with sledgehammers and started stealing jewelry.

The two employees and two customers who were inside ran to the back of the store and hid in a room until they thought the men had gone.

It's unclear how much merchandise the crooks made off with.

Investigators say the suspects fled in a white 4-door vehicle.

Surveillance video of liquor store robbery released

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Dramatic surveillance video of an aggravated robbery in north Harris County has been released and police say the suspect is armed and dangerous.

David Leon Hamilton is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. Police say on January 14, Hamilton entered the Greens Liquor Store on Imperial Valley when he allegedly pulled a gun from his hoodie pocket, reached over the counter and began shooting at the two victims. According to court documents, Hamilton then stole about $200 in cash from the register.

Court documents state authorities received information that Hamilton was the one who committed the robbery. Police say both of the shooting victims and a witness later identified Hamilton as the suspect from a photo array.

Hamilton, 26, has a long criminal record including assault, drug possession, theft, resisting arrest and unlawful carrying of a weapon dating back to 2002.

Toddler found with dead caregiver released

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A toddler found in the same home as his dead caregiver was released from the hospital Sunday after spending two nights in observation, officials said.

According to authorities, 19-month-old Kemichael Austin was discovered Friday in a playpen inside of a home on West Gulf Bank. His caregiver -- 63-year old Norma Davis -- had died.

Kemichael was taken into the custody of Child Protective Services.

The child was not seriously harmed, but he was dehydrated and required hospitalization.

It's not known how or when Davis died. Her son tells Eyewitness News she had been ill for quite some time, but yet she was still able to care for the little boy.

Emergency responders say they gave the boy fluids as they rushed him to the hospital.

CPS said Sunday that Kemichael has been placed with a new foster family.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says there were no signs of trauma on Davis' body so it appears she died from natural causes.

New evidence released in shooting of League City couple confronting car burglar

  LEAGUE CITY, TX (KTRK) -- League City police have released new evidence in the search for suspects in a double shooting and car burglary case.

In one of the incidents, a woman saw a man breaking into her husband's truck on Meade Court in the Ellis Landing subdivision. He followed her outside to do something about it and that's when the burglar turned violent, shooting both the man and woman just feet from the front door of their home.

Police say as the gunman was running from the scene of Monday's shooting, one of his shoes fell off. The shoe -- a black and white Adidas AdiZero Crazy Light basketball shoe men's size 11 -- is currently being processed for DNA evidence and fingerprints.

There were four other burglary of motor vehicles which occurred in the same area -- two in Ellis Landing and two in the Clear Creek Village subdivision -- at around the same time, just prior to the shooting incident on December 26. The Clear Creek Village subdivision is located just north of FM 518 from Ellis Landing.

Information obtained from witnesses confirms these crimes were most likely committed by the same suspect(s) due to the similarities of the vehicle and suspect description.

Witnesses to the other crimes described both hearing and seeing a small sports car with a loud exhaust. It is now believed there were at least two persons involved, as witnesses described one person driving the vehicle and one person getting in and out breaking into cars.

Sketch released of fake worker who shot resident

This suspect sketch was released of a fake worker who shot a League City resident after gaining access to his home

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Authorities have released a sketch of a fake worker who shot a League City resident after gaining access to his home.

In the morning hours of Dec. 3 at approximately 9:20am, League City police say they responded to a residence in the 2800 Block of Carrera Ct. in the Tuscan Lakes neighborhood about a reported shooting. Police say a white or Hispanic male had came to the home dressed as a construction worker telling the homeowners he needed to come inside to check on the water pressure. The homeowners allowed the suspect inside, but became suspicious and then told him to exit the home.

A struggle ensued between the male homeowner and the suspect when police say the suspect shot the male homeowner in the leg. The suspect then fled the home and ran to a waiting vehicle driven by a white or Hispanic male, which left the area on Porta Rosa Ln.

The male victim was transported via LifeFlight to Memorial Herman Hospital. The gunshot wound appears to be non-life threatening.

The suspect is described to a light-skinned Hispanic male in his early 20's with a slender build, medium length dark hair, wearing a utility jacket, blue hat, and a utility belt. Likely left hand dominant. The getaway driver is also described as a light-skinned Hispanic male. The vehicle is a gray colored 2-door with a trunk (not a hatchback), with lightly tinted windows, similar to a Honda Civic or Honda Accord. It was also described as being about four to five years old.

League City police are asking any persons who might have information about this case to contact Detective Hammann at 281-554-1819. League City Police are also asking for anyone who lives in the area that has video surveillance which may have captured the incident to contact Detective Hammann at 281-554-1819.

The League City Police Department would urge all residents to check the credentials and obtain verification from the employee's business office of any worker who shows up for an unscheduled appointment prior to allowing them inside the home. If residents have suspicions about whether or not a person has legitimate business at their home they should immediately contact the Police Department.

According to Michael Huynh, City of League City Water Production Superintendent, Water Department employees will only be sent to a home to check on water pressure at the request of the homeowner. The city employee will then check the water pressure from the outside of the home. All city employees will be dressed in a city uniform to include a city logo and name on the shirt and will be driving a city vehicle with a city logo on the vehicle.

Sketch released of suspect in transgender's murder

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police have a murder mystery on their hands. The body of a transgender woman was found behind a large trash container at a north side apartment complex. Now police released the one clue that could help them solve the murder.

Nathan Davis was born a man but dressed and lived as a woman. Davis was well known in this north side community. His murder has sparked outrage and concern.

Davis was a familiar face at a north side convenience store.

Store owner Manu Pooprya recalled, "He was a good customer of ours. He used to play Lotto, especially Pick 3. I know his numbers he played."

Early Monday morning, the 44-year-old who was born a man but lived as a woman, was found murdered across the street behind a large trash container. He'd been shot in the head. Investigators say Davis was wearing a wig, a red dress and full make up. The transgender female lived with friends at a nearby apartment complex.

"He was known to prostitute in the area, but it is unknown at the time of this murder if that's what he indeed was doing," said Sgt. Colin Howard with the Houston Police Department.

Police have no motive for the killing, just a composite sketch of a man seen running from the murder scene. Eyewitnesses told police they saw the suspect on his cell phone and overheard him ask someone to pick him up while in a nearby parking lot.

Those who knew Davis say none of it makes sense.

Store customer Angelo Caban said, "It's sad what happened to him. He was very respectful, never hurt nobody, never dissed nobody, was real nice to people. He would keep to himself, you know, it's sad. "

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'11" with a muscular build. He was wearing a white muscle shirt, black sweatpants and white tennis shoes. He's believed to be in his 20s or 30s.

IDs released on League City murder-suicide

  LEAGUE CITY, TX -- Police have released the names of a husband and wife found fatally shot in their Houston-area home in an apparent murder and suicide.

League City police say 35-year-old Waldemar Ruiz apparently killed his 33-year-old wife, Arjomarie, then turned the gun on himself. Detective Walter Hammann says two children, ages 1 and 3, were found in another part of the home Friday night. The youngsters are in the care of an aunt who discovered the dead adults. Hammann told the Houston Chronicle that Waldemar Ruiz had called his sister-in-law after he shot his wife to say "come get the kids." Police are trying to determine a motive for the shootings. Surveillance images released in major theft case

Surveillance cameras captured the woman police are looking for, as well as the Ford Explorer the suspects were in.

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police are asking for the public's help to find several suspects involved in a major theft case in southwest Houston.

On March 11, a 77-year-old woman was shopping at the WalMart at 2727 Dunvale. Investigators say when she went to the parking lot, she couldn't find her vehicle. That's when they say four Hispanic males offered to help her. They convinced her to that her vehicle needed major repairs and to give them her keys.

Detectives say the suspects then persuaded the victim to accompany them to her bank, where she withdrew $10,000 and gave the suspects $8,000 for car repairs.

Then the suspects, against the victim's will, took her to the Plazamericas shopping center on Bellaire near the Southwest Freeway and convinced her to charge more than $14,000 worth of jewelry to her credit card.

The victim was then taken to her car and left behind the PetSmart at Westheimer and Dunvale.

The suspects are described only as four Hispanic males. One of them appeared to be in his late 20s, tall and thin. He was accompanied by a female, also in her late 20s, wearing a blouse with the number "46" on the front. They were last seen in a white, late-model Ford Explorer, with a missing front license plate.

Sketch released in double shooting in South Houston

 A composite sketch has been released of the suspect. He is only described as a male wearing a black hoodie type jacket and dark pants.

  SOUTH HOUSTON, TX (KTRK) -- Authorities are asking for the public's assistance with any information about a suspect wanted for shooting two people, one fatally, in South Houston.

On Sunday, January 30, 2011 at approximately 5:21 am, George Segura and his girlfriend were sitting their car at their residence in the 1000 block of Washington St. in South Houston. They noticed a man wearing a black hoodie jacket and dark pants standing in the roadway. Segura and his girlfriend thought the suspect was acting strangely. The next time they saw the suspect, he was standing at the passenger side door of their vehicle with a gun. The suspect shot at them, striking Segura in the head and his girlfriend in the right arm. The suspect then fled north on Austin Street. George Segura died seven days later of his injury. A composite sketch has been released of the suspect. He is only described as a male wearing a black hoodie type jacket and dark pants. Surveillance video of gas station robbery released

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff's Office and Crime Stoppers need your help to find a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a northwest Harris County gas station.

Surveillance video from the April 2 robbery was released on Tuesday. At around 10pm, video shows a male enter the store and pull out a pistol. The clerk says the man demanded cash from the register.

The clerk complied and the suspect took off on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male between 25 and 35 years of age, 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall, weighing between 190 and 210 pounds and bald. The suspect was wearing a dark hooded sweater and tan pants.

CA man convicted in student's death to be released

 Convicted sex offender John Steven Burgess (left) pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to five years in prison for the death of Donna Jou

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- On Thursday morning, the man convicted of being involved in the death of Clear Lake student Donna Jou will be released after serving only two years in prison.

The 19-year-old was a college student in California when she met john Steven Burgess. He answered her Craigslist ad for math tutoring. Jou died while at a party at his home. Burgess says he woke up and found dead from an overdose and then dumped her body in the Pacific Ocean. Burgess got five years for involuntary manslaughter and is being let out for good behavior.
