Suspect surrenders after 3-hour SWAT standoff

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A nearly three-hour SWAT standoff in northeast Harris County ended peacefully Sunday morning.

SWAT officers were called to the Aldine Apartments on Aldine Mail Route around 12:30am.

Deputies believe the suspect was randomly firing in the parking lot of the apartments. When they arrived, he barricaded himself inside an apartment and refused to leave.

According to investigators, the man surrendered peacefully around 5am. He was taken into custody. His name has not been released.
