Man exposes himself to girl at Katy bus stop

KATY, TX (KTRK) -- There's another stranger danger warning from the Katy Independent School District. It's the fifth one of the month, and this time the stranger did more than just approach the student.

It happened around 3:45pm Monday in the 2000 block of Westborough near Ft. Stanton.

The entire incident was so disturbing to the little girl that she didn't want to return to the bus stop. Her mother told us the man first exposed himself to her and then asked her what she would do for $100.

"They're sick, they have to be sick," the girl's mother, Mariana Trevino, said.

The 14-year-old girl was right in front of her apartment complex but alone waiting for her younger brother to be dropped by the school bus when she was first approached.

"He first asked her does she need a ride, even opened the door, asking her to get in and she ignored him and turned around," Trevino said.

Her mother says she normally would have left but the bus carrying her brother hadn't arrived. The man took off and then came back.

"That's when the man had I guess a jumpsuit. He unzipped it and exposed himself to her," Trevino said.

Trevino says her eighth grade daughter was in shock and ever since, she's been quiet. Meantime, she's been telling as many parents as she can.

"I'm really concerned he'll eventually get someone into that car," Trevino said.

Katy ISD also sent out an alert to all parents. The closest school is Sundown Elementary.

It comes on the heels of four other stranger danger bulletins the district or law enforcement have sent out in the last two weeks. None is believed to be related to this crime.

"He'll do it again. He'll try to do it again and who knows what he'll do next time," parent Linda McFatlidge said.

But parents like McFatlidge are changing their routines.

"I'm going to drive them to school myself," McFatlidge said.

With six children, Trevino and her husband can't always do that but the parents of the complex have vowed to not let any child wait alone again.

"I really do hope he gets caught, I really do," Trevino said.

The man is described as Hispanic, 20 to 30 years old, with a mustache and goatee. He was wearing a blue jumpsuit with a red and white logo on the right chest, and was driving an older model tan Lincoln Town Car.

We've also learned the man may have approached a parent on Monday at Sundown Elementary School. Parents are being notified.

The incident is being investigated by Katy ISD police and the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
