HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police are investigating the death of a suspect who reportedly died after being shot with a Taser gun by officers. Officers responded to a report of a man running on the North Freeway around 10:35pm. As they tried to detain the man, he allegedly started fighting with police.
According to officials, an officer fired the Taser without the cartridge. They transported him to the jail where they say his erratic behavior continued.
Police transported the suspect to Ben Taub General Hospital at 11:50pm and he was pronounced dead at 7:50am.
This cause of death remains under investigation. His name has not been released.
