HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Starting today, it will cost you more to use the toll roads. The price hike applies to all tolls controlled by the Harris County Toll Road Authority. E-Z Tag drivers who use the Sam Houston Tollway, Westpark Tollway , Hardy Toll Road, or One Toll Plaza on the Fort Bend Parkway will see toll fees increase by 10 cents from $1.30 to $1.40.
Drivers who pay cash can expect the fee to jump 25 cents from $1.50 to $1.75.
And tolls on the Katy Freeway's managed lanes will increase by $1 during peak times.
Most of the toll roads are paid for, but the toll road authority claims the money collected from the increase will go toward future road projects.
The toll road authority says it hasn't received too many complaints about the new fees, but not everyone we've spoken to is pleased.
Officials say those drivers who use the E-Z Tag will feel less of an impact.
