HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man will likely face charges after leading officers on short car chase with two small children in his car.

The Harris Co. Sheriff's Office says a deputy stopped a car in north Harris County because two small children were not in car seats. The deputy says the driver became aggressive then pushed the deputy, jumped back in the car and took off with the kids and a woman still inside. The chase ended about a mile away.

"I think it was pretty stupid to run from the police with a kid in the car, then a little while later a deputy walked up with what looked like a newborn. I mean, it was very, it kinda just made me mad that someone would run from the police while doing that," said eyewitness Rod Rice.

The children were OK but the driver said he didn't feel good and was taken to a hospital to be checked out.

Deputies plan to charge the driver the driver felony evading arrest.
