HOUSTON -- Houston police have detained a man for questioning in the death of a woman whose body was found in an overgrown vacant lot. Medical examiners on Tuesday identified the victim as 48-year-old Norma Jean Scott. Her nude body was discovered Monday night by volunteers with Texas EquuSearch. Further details on the cause of death were not immediately released.
The woman was reported missing after relatives raised concerns that a man last Thursday allegedly forced Scott from her home.
Police spokesman John Cannon says a man described as a person of interest in the case was being held on unrelated charges. His name and further details were not immediately available.
