Police are investigating a murder outside a southeast Houston home where they a say a father was killed just feet away from his family 
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Houston father was shot and killed overnight just a few feet away from his family. John Steven Martinez was ambushed around 10pm in the driveway of his southeast Houston home on Ashburn.
Police say the suspects followed Martinez home and confronted him in the driveway when he got out of his car.
Martinez's family was inside and heard yelling, then a gunshot.
When they came outside, he was bleeding in the driveway.
He later died from his injuries at an area hospital.
The killers remain on the loose. Police say they are interviewing multiple witnesses who saw the suspects flee the scene.
Investigators believe robbery was the motive, but it's not yet clear if they got away with anything.
Police plan to release a suspect description later today.
