Authorities suspect alcohol may have played a factor in the fatal crash. 
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A possibly drunk driver was killed when he crashed his pickup into a tree in the East End. Investigators found alcohol in that dead man's truck after it hit the tree on a curve along Navigation near Lockwood. Officers say the driver and his passenger were not wearing seat-belts.
Both men were taken to Ben Taub Hospital where the driver died. Sources also say there was a strong smell of booze inside that pickup.
