HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Houston police officer suffered minor injuries overnight when a driver crashed into her while she was responding to a call. It happened around midnight on South Gessner near West Bellfort in southwest Houston.
Investigators say the officer was northbound on Gessner with her lights and siren running when a driver going west on Bellfort hit her.
The officer crashed into another car that was southbound on Gessner before ending up in hedges.
Investigators say she was injured by the airbag. She was taken to an area hospital to be checked out and is expected to fully recover.
No one else was hurt.
