HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Thousands of children who might not have otherwise received a gift this Christmas will have new toys under the tree. Nearly 80,000 toys collected by three local charities were distributed at the George R. Brown Convention Center Friday. Pre-approved families lined up to pick out dolls, footballs and board games for their kids.
The annual U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots drive was held in coordination with Houston Children's Charity and Houston First Corporation. The toys are expected to bring holiday cheer to 20,000 Houston children.
