Houston lifts burn bans at city parks

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- If you're staying in town, you'll get to fully enjoy all Houston city parks.

The removal of hundreds of dead trees from city parks has allowed the city of Houston to lift its temporary smoking and grilling ban, which ends Friday.

The city banned grilling and smoking in 12 city parks in September in response to this years drought. The parks and recreation department worked with a contractor to remove more than 8,000 dead trees.
