Job fair scheduled for company moving to Baytown
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- As many as 400 new jobs are on their way to Baytown. Washington state-based Integrated Management Systems is opening a branch in Baytown in the next few months and is hiring right now. It is looking to fill 300-400 logistics and warehouse positions, which include everything from janitorial staff to its leadership team. It will be hosting a job fair on June 8-10 at the Texas Workforce Commission's office in Baytown, 6952 Garth Road. Anyone interested in the job fair also can call Jenn Wilson at 832-984-6567. Local company makes $1M payment for former Navy site
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX -- A Houston company has made a $1 million down payment as it plans to redevelop ex-Naval Station Ingleside. Canyon Supply and Logistics seeks to create an offshore oil service complex at the former Corpus Christi-area military installation at a cost of nearly $76 million. CEO Larry Ramming said Monday that Canyon paid the money May 9, in advance of the May 13 deadline, to show that the company is ready to do business. The rest of the down payment, $24 million, is due Sept. 15.
Port of Corpus Christi commissioners on May 2 approved the sales agreement for the redevelopment, which could lead to more than 2,500 jobs. The site would be similar to an offshore oil service complex at Port Fourchon, La.

Chinese company withdraws proposal to run Galveston port
GALVESTON, TX (KTRK) -- A Chinese company has withdrawn its proposal to run operations at the port of Galveston.
