Store clerk fights back against armed robber

  SUGAR LAND, TX (KTRK) -- A store clerk fought back against a man who tried to rob him at gunpoint.

It happened late last night at the Corner Store Grocery on Eldridge near Greenway in Sugar Land.

Police say a man walked in with a gun and tried to hold up the store. But the clerk pulled out his own gun and shot the robber.

The suspect was taken to the hospital. His current condition is unknown. The clerk is not expected to face charges.

Clerk fatally shot during robbery at Family Dollar

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- There was a deadly shooting last night at a southeast Houston Family Dollar Store.

It happened at the store on Bellfort near Westover. According to investigators, two men waited until the store was about to close and ran inside wearing masks. Once inside, they reportedly held up a female clerk at gunpoint.

Investigators say during the robbery, the two men shot and killed that clerk. A male employee who was also inside at the time wasn't hurt.

"The cash register was in the open position," said Officer Javier Avila with the Houston Police Department. "How much money was taken or if any money was taken, we won't know until they conduct some type of inventory."

Investigators say the two masked men took off in a customer's car. They say the vehicle the men drove off in is a tan 2012 Toyota Camry with Louisiana license plates N23-8302.

Police are searching for those suspects right now. If you have any information on where they might be, you're asked to call police.

  GALVESTON, TX (KTRK) -- The Galveston County district clerk has been sentenced to two years probation and ordered to pay a $200 fine.

Jason Murray pled guilty to misdemeanor assault on a family member on Tuesday.

Police say Murray hit his wife after a Christmas party in the Upper Kirby area of Houston. She was treated at Hermann Hospital for a severe laceration. It is not clear if the conviction will affect his status as district clerk.

Galveston Co. District Clerk charged with assault

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Galveston County District Clerk Jason Murray is charged with misdemeanor assault on a family member after an alleged incident involving his wife, officials said.

According to court documents, Murray turned himself in to the Harris County Sheriff's Office and was released on $1,500 bail Monday.

The incident reportedly happened December 8 after a Christmas party at a club in the Upper Kirby district.

The couple had an argument and Murray allegedly struck his wife with his hand in their vehicle. His wife was further injured trying to get out of the vehicle and she was treated for a severe laceration at an area hospital, reports state.

Suspect attacks store clerk during robbery attempt

See it on TV? Check here.  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Authorities are searching for a suspect who attacked a store clerk during an attempted aggravated robbery in the Richmond area.

At about 9:40pm on December 5, Ft. Bend Co. Sheriff's deputies say they were called to the Timewise (Shell) Convenience Store in the 3500 block of FM 762 where the store clerk said the suspect entered the store brandishing a handgun and demanded money. The clerk said the suspect was aggressive, and before the clerk could answer, he began hitting the clerk in the head with the handgun.

The clerk said he raised his arms and rushed toward the bandit, who turned and exited the store.

A second store clerk who had been outside, and said they saw the suspect run across FM 762 and into the parking lot of Petco and Marshall's in the Brazos Town Center shopping center. Deputies conducted a search of the area, but could not find the suspect.

The clerk was treated at the scene by EMS and later went to the hospital by private vehicle.

The suspect is described as a white male about 30 to 35 years of age. He had gray, shortly trimmed hair and was wearing a red hoodie.
