HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Houston police officer was involved in an accident on the city's south side overnight. Police said the officer was headed northbound on Highway 288 at Southmore when a vehicle cut in front of him. The officer swerved to miss the car and ended up hitting a guardrail, investigators said.
The patrol car had major damage, but the officer was not injured.
