Houston man killed in collision with tree

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man was killed early Friday after slamming his car into a tree, officials said.

It happened around 3:45am on Robmore St. at O'Donnell Dr. in north Houston.

According to the Houston Police Department, the driver of a Nissan Maxima lost control of his car going west on Robmore and skidded sideways into the tree.

The impact was on the driver's side of the vehicle. Officials said the man died immediately.

Police said the victim lived just one block from the accident. He was alone in the car.
