Former President George H.W. Bush remains hospitalized in Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Former President George H.W. Bush will not leave a Houston hospital until he's made a full recovery.

A Bush spokesperson says the former president has had a few days where he hasn't had much energy, so doctors at Methodist Hospital are putting off his discharge until he's fully recovered.

Bush had been expected to go home sometime this weekend.

The 88-year-old has been in the hospital since Thanksgiving for treatment of a lingering cough related to bronchitis.

METRO president George Greanias plans to resign

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- METRO has confirmed that its president and CEO is resigning.

METRO has not said what prompted Geoorge Greanias to resign, only that he is expected to hand in his letter of resignation on Monday.

Greanias took over on an interim basis in May 2010 after former President and CEO Frank Wilson resigned over a scandal involving alleged misuse of money and document shredding. The interim tag was dropped in September of that same year.

Attempted rape reported in George Bush Park

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Deputies are searching for a suspect behind a reported attempted rape in George Bush Park on Houston's west side yesterday.

The call came in at about 1:30pm from the park along Westheimer and Highway 6. A woman jogging in a grassy area between the Texas National Guard Armory and George Bush Park says she was attacked by someone, but managed to get away with scrapes and bruises.

Authorities are calling the attack an attempted rape.

Deputies with the Precinct 5 Constable's Office were searching for a man wearing a white tank top and blue shorts, but couldn't find anyone matching that description.

Authorities had an extensive area they had to search, George Bush Park is some 7,800 acres and the running trail is more than 11 miles. In fact it is the 6th largest park in the nation.

They are now asking for your help. If you have any information about this man you are asked to call police.
