Two firefighters critically injured in training accident

  BEAUMOUNT, TX (KTRK) -- Two firefighters, one from Houston and another from Georgia, were hurt in a training accident yesterday.

This happened at the 17th annual east Texas area Fall Smoke Diver School in Beaumont. Investigators did not release specific details. They would only say the two firefighters suffered heat-related injuries in two separate accidents.

Both firefighters are listed in critical condition.

3 killed, 1 critically injured in Conroe crash

  CONROE, TX (KTRK) -- Three Conroe residents were dead and another was in critical condition Saturday after a two-vehicle accident.

The crash happened just before 7am on F.M. 3083 at Butler.

According to investigators, an eastbound Honda Civic was driving through the intersection after stopping at a stop sign when it was struck by a northbound Dodge pickup.

A back seat passenger in the car was ejected and died at the scene. He was identified as David Mejia Bonilla, 22, of Conroe.

Officials said there were two other passengers in the car -- 48-year-old Jose Aurelio Cantareno Benitez and 25-year-old Alexander Moreno.

Both of them died at the scene as well.

The driver of the car, 22, was transported to Conroe Regional Hospital in critical condition.

According to police, no one was wearing a seatbelt in either vehicle.

The 56-year-old driver of the truck walked away from the crash with a small cut on his face, officials said.

Police said he did not appear impaired and he submitted to a mandatory blood draw.

Motorcyclist critically injured in accident in SW Houston

See it on TV? Check here.   HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A serious accident involving a motorcycle left one person in the hospital.

Investigators say a man on a motorcycle was speeding along Richmond near Loretto when he crashed into the back of a car.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital where he was listed in critical condition. The driver of the car was not hurt.

Driver critically injured after slamming into trees in Atascocita

See it on TV? Check here.   ATASCOCITA, TX (KTRK) -- A man is in critical condition after his pickup truck slammed into two small trees overnight.

It happened in Atascocita on Lake Houston Parkway near Upper Lake after midnight. Deputies say the truck drove into the median and over several bushes before it crashed into the trees.

It's not clear what caused the man to lose control.

Woman critically injured in accident on Gulf Freeway

 A woman was critically injured after an alleged drunk driver slammed into an SUV in southeast Houston.

  HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Traffic is back open along the Gulf Freeway, after a wreck had traffic tied up for hours.

A speeding pickup slammed into an SUV around 2:45am. The impact sent the SUV flying over the retaining wall, and caused it to flip onto the feeder road. One of the women in that SUV is in critical condition.

The man driving the pickup failed a sobriety test. It took about three hours to clear the investigation.
