Police investigating possible child murder

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police say a child's body may be in the back of a vehicle in west Houston, another child is missing and the father is in custody.

Authorities tell us the children's father drove a sports utility vehicle from his home in Pasadena to his father's home on Southwick.

That's when the grandfather called police saying his son had confessed to killing his little boy, who had cerebal palsy.

Police searched the SUV and found a box with a strong smell in the back. Investigators believe what is inside the box is the disabled boy's body.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Science is at the scene investigating the findings.

Investigators are also looking for the boy's sister. According to officials, she has not been seen or heard from either. They do not know her age.

The father was taken into custody and is being questioned by investigators. There is no word on how the boy died or if the father will face any charges.

Police are still trying to piece this together. Things are changing by the moment. ABC13 reporter Samica Knight is at the scene and we will bring you more information as it becomes available.
